Dr. DAO Aïda is an economist specializing in governance, analysis, and evaluation of public policies. Her work focuses on issues related to the effectiveness of fiscal policy, fiscal space, and public debt management, with a particular emphasis on public finance governance, public budgets, and security challenges. She leads several research and technical assistance projects on local governance and decentralization, and supports local governments in implementing innovative transparency and accountability tools, notably participatory budgeting and citizen budgeting. Her work also incorporates a cross-cutting approach focused on inclusion, particularly gender mainstreaming, in the design, implementation, and evaluation of public policies at both the local and national levels.
