Dipayan Dey is an environmental biotechnologist by training, with acumen in restoration ecology as well as having twenty-five years of comprehensive experience in taking ahead community-based sustainable climate initiatives in South Asia. While he started his career as an academic in the University of Delhi, in practice, he also enjoys leading collaborative action-research with several international organizations wherein he has the opportunity to work towards conservation planning and resource management at community-ecosystem interface. Presently, he is heading the research and innovation division of South Asian Forum for Environment [SAFE]’ a regional CSO and a major stakeholder to UN Environment and UNFCCC, working towards SDGs in the South Asian ecoregion.
