Jeffrey Althouse

Jeffrey is an economist and associate researcher at the Université Sorbonne Paris Nord (USPN). His research explores the crossroads of finance, sustainable development, and the evaluation of environmental risks in developing countries. He previously served as co-coordinator of the World Bank’s Coalition for Capacity on Climate Action (C3A) Nature Transition Hub, where he led research dedicated to supporting Ministries of Finance to better understand their nature-related adaptation and financing needs, and assess their exposure to nature-related risks. Before this, he worked as an environmental economist for the Banque de France, where he conducted research on the macro-financial risks associated with nature loss and the sustainability transition. Jeffrey has also held teaching positions at Université Sorbonne Paris Nord (USPN) and Sciences Po. He holds a PhD in economics from USPN and a joint master’s degree in international economics from both USPN and the Berlin School of Economics and Law.
