Katrina Messiha is a social scientist, Marie Skłodowska-Curie PhD Fellow, and Specialist Research Consultant, who works across public health, health policy, participation, and global health research. Katrina’s doctoral research at Amsterdam University Medical Center focuses on developing theory-based principles for co-creation in public health. She was appointed as Early Stage Researcher 1 within ‘Health CASCADE’, an Innovative Training Network funded by the European Commission under Horizon 2020. Her broader research interests include health inequalities, health promotion, participatory approaches, and the use of evidence-informed and inclusive methods to address complex public health challenges. Alongside her doctoral research, she contributes to initiatives, practical guidance, and training materials that strengthen the consistency, transparency, and responsible use of co-creation in health research.
