Lakmini Fernando’s primary research interests are Public Finance and Climate Change. She is well conversant in development policy formulation and public investment planning at the national and sectoral levels. Lakmini holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Adelaide, Australia, and a Master of Development Economics (Advanced) from the University of Queensland, Australia. She received the Dean’s Honour Roll for outstanding academic excellence from the University of Queensland in 2014 and the Dean’s Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence from the University of Adelaide in 2021.
