Muhammad Abdur Rahaman serves the Center for People & Environ (CPE) as Director. Rahaman is a dedicated young climate scientist who has worked in the climate science and policy field for more than 20 years. In this journey, Rahaman has served national and international organizations as a researcher, practitioner, and development actor in climate change, disaster risk reduction, climate-smart agricultural innovations, climate change, and health nexus. Rahaman serves the Global Taskforce of Climate Change, Water & Energy as Chair to lead scientific research. He served the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) as a Research Fellow twice (2009 and 2014) and is a reviewer of the Physical Science Chapter of IPCC AR6. He is also a contributor to the UN Sustainable Development Report 2023, and founder of CAMET Park, Deshojo Bazar & Subarna Krishi. He is also a reviewer and focal point of SLOCAT Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport for the Transport and Climate Change Global Status Report (TCC-GSR) 2020, Scientific African, Unicef-PSTU Community Engagement towards Climate Resilient Health System (CE2CRHS) project. Rahaman has achieved the Environment Award, in 2022 for his outstanding contribution to climate change and environment research, education, and outreach.
