Dr Saravanan Thangarajan is a Harvard-trained global health and climate health researcher, and Visiting Scientist at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His work focuses on climate change and health, maternal mental health, disability caregiving, climate mobility, disaster risk reduction, and health systems in low-resource settings. He has led field research across all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu, India, examining how heat, air pollution, caregiving strain, and social vulnerability shape maternal wellbeing and resilience. He also contributes to global health and climate policy through advisory work with WHO, the Wellcome Trust, and international research and advocacy platforms.
