Tshegofatso Makete joined the South African National Research Foundation (NRF) in 2015. She was initially responsible for grants management and system administration before moving to the section responsible for policy research and analysis. She focuses on areas such as Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity (EDI) and Research Impact, among others. She is currently enrolled for a PhD in Public Policy at the University of Pretoria (UP), where she previously completed her undergraduate, honours and master’s qualifications, majoring in Political Sciences, Public Administration and Management, and Multidisciplinary Human Rights. Her master’s degree thesis was on the ‘Policy Challenges to the Delivery of Low-cost Housing in South Africa’. Tshegofatso has a strong commitment to social justice and the advancement of research within the context of public policy and governance.
