Climate change impacts every facet of our lives, from health and food security to housing, safety, and work. Vulnerable populations, especially those in small island nations and developing countries, are already facing severe consequences. Rising sea levels and saltwater intrusion have forced entire communities to relocate, while prolonged droughts are increasing the risk of famine. As weather-related events intensify, the number of people displaced by these events is expected to rise dramatically. 

Here is your chance to help shape the innovative thinking and strategic actions we need to address these impacts.

GlobalDev invites researchers to contribute to its special climate resilience series.  Share your insights and research on climate resilience strategies in an accessible 800-word blog.

What to include in your blog

GlobalDev seeks fresh research-based perspectives on climate resilience strategies.

We ask you to highlight the positive and negative impacts of these strategies based on findings from a range of studies, which may include your own.  

Discuss and hyperlink as many research sources as appropriate to illuminate the policy challenge you describe. 

Each article should be approximately 800 words and focus on one or more of the following key points (the list is indicative and not exhaustive):

  • Living: How climate resilience strategies are changing housing and daily habits.
  • Business: The impact on business practices, sustainability efforts, and economic models.
  • Upbringing: The influence on education, childhood experiences, and youth engagement.
  • Aging: How strategies support or challenge the elderly population.
  • Mobility: Changes in transportation and urban planning.
  • Politics: The role of policy-making and political action.
  • Community Service: The evolution of community service and volunteerism.
  • Inclusive Cities: Building cities and institutions that promote equity and accessibility.

GlobalDev looks for accessible contributions that make use of existing research to shed light on some of the most urgent policy challenges facing the world today. We do not publish extended abstracts of single research publications or highly technical content, and we very rarely accept op-ed style contributions.
