Indigenous Kichwa researcher

Cristina Fueres Guitarra is an Indigenous Kichwa researcher who studied Environmental Engineering and holds a master’s degree in Tropical Forest and Biodiversity Management and Conservation from the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE). Her work focuses on territorial governance, women’s and youth leadership, and the inclusion of Indigenous peoples in higher education. She is a member of the Latin American Model Forest Youth Network (RLJBM) and the Indigenous Peoples Advisory Committee of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI).
