Migration Researcher, former Research Fellow, Social Sustainability and Inclusion for West Africa department, World Bank
Habmo BIRWE is a migration researcher whose work focuses on human mobility in contexts that are fragile or affected by conflict. Most recently, he served as a Research Fellow at the World Bank within the Social Sustainability and Inclusion for West Africa department, where he participated in analytical work such as the promotion of environmental and safeguards issues, gender equity, social cohesion, and economic inclusion among displaced people and other vulnerable communities in the Sahel and Lake Chad regions. Birwe holds a master’s degree in Environmental Policy from Sciences Po Lyon (France) and a master’s degree in Migrations Studies from the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (Senegal).
