Jitendra Singh teaches economics at the Thapar School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology. He is Research Fellow at Jindal Institute of Haryana Studies.  He is an applied economist with an interest in the fields of labor economics, economics of gender and political economy. His research empirically examines how social identities, namely gender, caste, and religion determine labor market outcomes and economic welfare in India. Jitendra holds a PhD in Economics from Ashoka University, where his dissertation provides some novel evidence on why female labor force participation in is low and further declining in India.
