Rubiela Barnet

Rubiela Barnet is a Guna woman from Panama. Her academic background spans Higher Education Teaching, Project Management, Environmental Sciences, International Tourism Business Administration, and Chemistry. With over 15 years of diverse professional experience and leadership, she has implemented projects in the fields of tourism, environmental science, and community development. She has also provided expertise in legislative advisory for indigenous communities and regulatory frameworks for tourism. As a university professor and Panama’s cultural tourism delegate to Europe, she has also built strategic partnerships with both national and international organisations. Rubiela is a current member of the International Forum of Indigenous Women (FIMI).
